
The Rural Development Inter-Diocesan Service (RDIS) held an Extraordinary Meeting of its Board of Directors on October 31, 2025, followed by a General Assembly on November 1, 2025, in Nyaruguru Diocese, headquartered at Nyaruguru District a member Diocese which joined after its establishment one of its members. The two-day gathering brought together board members, and advisory committee members to deliberate on essential governance and strategic matters shaping the future of the organization.
Under the management of Executive Director Pastor Viateur Ntarindwa, the meetings were marked by a spirit of unity, transparency, and a shared commitment to advancing sustainable and holistic development in Rwanda’s rural communities.
Key Resolutions and discussions
- Approval of the revised Statutes: The assembly endorsed the updated RDIS statutes, revised in accordance with Rwanda’s new legal framework (Law No. 058/2024 of June 20, 2024) governing non-governmental organizations.
- Adoption of the RDIS Strategic Plan (2026–2030): Members approved a new five-year strategic framework designed to guide activities toward sustainable community transformation and environmental stewardship.
- Review of the Financial and Operational Reports (up to October 2025): The Board received an overview of RDIS’s financial health and performance reports, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement.
- Updates on Key Projects : The assembly reviewed progress within the 5 T-UBUMWE, BPS, and Eco Green Harvest, which continue to empower rural communities through environmental friendly agriculture like climate smart agriculture, watering plantations by using solar energy pumping system and so forth .
- Information on “One Climate World”: Members received updates on climate-focused initiatives fostering environmental conservation and green entrepreneurship.
- Appreciation to Pastor Dr. Kabango Jean Wesley: The assembly expressed gratitude to Dr. Kabango for his outstanding contributions to RDIS’s mission, networking and advocacy.
Delivering his remarks, the RDIS Legal Representative, Rt. Rev. Bishop Nshyimyimana Christophe, commended the Board and management for their dedication and strategic foresight. He emphasized the importance of aligning RDIS’s governance and operations with its founding mission of promoting sustainable development and improving community livelihoods.
As RDIS looks forward, the outcomes of these meetings will strengthen the organization’s governance framework and guide its continued contribution to Rwanda’s national development goals and global sustainability efforts.
